THE CAPTAIN'S LOG: Keeping your Stages Flight Windows laptop up to date

Hello Stages Flight Admin!

In order to give your riders the best possible experience, it's important to keep your Stages Flight Windows laptop up to date and running at its best.

A system restart flushes out the memory, cleans up any remnant processes of programs you've been using, and restores the system to a relatively fresh state. It is recommended to restart your Windows laptop once a week.

Steps are written out below the how-to video.

Follow these steps to restart your computer:

1. Close Stages Flight.
2. Tap on the Windows Key on the keyboard.
3. Navigate the pointer to the Windows icon, click to select.
4. Navigate the pointer to the Power icon, click to select.
5. Click on Restart.
There's more information on System Restart in the video above.

It's also important to keep your laptop up to date with all Windows updates.  Windows releases their updates on the second Tuesday of each month.  We recommend the following steps on the second Wednesday of each month.

1. Close Stages Flight.
2. Tap on the Windows key on the keyboard.
3. Navigate the pointer to the Windows icon, click to select.
4. Navigate the pointer to the Settings icon, click to select.
5. Navigate to Update & Security in the Settings pop-up box, click to select.
6. Click on Check for Updates.
7. If updates are available, they will begin downloading automatically.
8. Once downloads are complete, click on the Restart box.
9. Some updates can take as long as 3 hours so be sure there is plenty of time before your next class.
There is additional information on System Updates in the above video.

A little TLC will keep your Stages Flight laptop running at its best.
