CAPTAIN'S LOG: Ensuring reliable Internet

Hello Stages Flight Admin!

Let's face it. A solid Internet connection makes for a seamless Stages Flight experience. Help ensure that your Internet connection is as reliable as possible! If during a class the gauges drop en masse, or connection is lost regularly, those are symptoms of poor Internet connection.

First, is your Flight system setup with hard-wired Internet? This is the golden rule to reliability.

Second, have you recently made the switch from WiFi to hard-wired Internet? If so, make sure your WiFi is now turned off altogether in order to avoid interference. The laptop also defaults to whichever Internet was last used, so unplugging your Ethernet cable and plugging it back in again may do you good.

Third, try running network diagnostics by running the 'Network Troubleshooter' on the Windows machine. Let's walk through how to do this. Start by hitting the Windows key on the keyboard to bring up the task bar.

From your Windows task bar, select the WiFi icon, and then select Internet and settings. See the 'Network Troubleshooter' towards the bottom (pictured above). Click the troubleshooter and it will run diagnostics on your Internet. Select to accept all fixes that it suggests.
